I'm so bad at this!

Oh my gosh! I was so excited about this blogging business when I started and now look at me. I haven't seen my girls much lately, let alone take pictures to compete with the things MeMe is sharing! I am happy that my girls are lucky enough to spend their days with someone who dotes on them so...
I am still working on getting my master's degree - I should be graduating in December. THANK GOD! Work is going great with my class of 15 third graders. They are still young enough to like school and love their teacher, but old enough to complete projects and reports, so I am working hard to challenge them!
Sarah was so excited about starting school. She is still obsessed with saying the word "banik," which we've come to figure out is her own language for a metal cocktail drink stirrer. What a wack job she is! Anyways, nothing makes us laugh more than when she says randomly, "Mommy, did you just say banik??!!" Hilarious! What a creative mind that child has!
Molly moo (I know, I know, I'm trying to stop!) is growing like a weed. Lately I've been waking up in the middle of the night just to hold her and rock her. I feel like I am so busy sometimes that I am missing all the great moments of my baby's childhood. Even now, I am beginning to cry writing this. You always hear that they grow up quickly...Don't blink!! ANYWAYS, Molly is growing into an adorable little person who roams the house looking for me saying, "ma ma" whenever I am not near her. She loves to play with her sister and I am so excited to see what the future holds!

Marathon!

Hey everyone -
I know that this page is about Sarah and Molly, however I've decided to join Team in Training to run a marathon to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and need your help. People are diagnosed with these types of cancer everyday, and the faster we find a cure, the less likely someone we know, even our own children, will suffer from these cancers. Anyways, I have joined this cause in honor of a local man who grew up near me, lived in my community, and died at the age of 28. His name is Ryan Waldheger and I've decided to run in his honor because he had a great vision and an amazing strength throughout his short life. I would love for you to read more about him at his website, www.rwrm.org to see why I am so personally committed to finding a cure.
In addition, I need help in raising money towards new research in the race to find a cure. I know we all hate to ask for money, but every little bit helps, and I would appreciate your support immensely! To make things easier, I have set up my own website where you can donate directly online! Please stop by to check my training progress and to donate towards a cure!
http://pages.teamintraining.org/noh/pfchangs09/bwalton

Thank you in advance for your well wishes and prayers! I know this will be a tough thing to accomplish - 26.2 miles is no day in the park- but just think of what others are going through in their own battle with leukemia. Please Help.

So sorry we haven't added to our blog in a while...

Not much going on this summer except mommy kickin butt at school earning her master's degree! Sarah and Molly have been learning that it is possible to have fun with each other! I am amazed at how nicely they are starting to play together (sometimes!). I've been going to school everyday for the past three weeks from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., so I ship the girls off to MeMe's (where they have a blast) and I get home just in time to see Daddy taking them up to bed. It's been really hard on me to miss out on the summer with them, but I keep reminding myself that once I get this degree I can relax for a bit. Funny how I seem to say that about everything I'm currently working on, yet when I finish there is ALWAYS SOMETHING ELSE!

I did manage to get a little free time the other day. I was so excited to hang out with my girls in the middle of the day! We took a bike ride to the beach and they had a blast! Sarah enjoyed playing in the sand, and maniac Molly was ready to dive into the lake! We got as far as my knees, and then I had to reel her in! She probably would've kept going if I wasn't so scared to see her sink!

Anyways, we are looking forward to this weekend because Uncle Tegan will be home and we just love him! Sarah is at grandmas and grandpas as we speak to get ready for the annual corn hole tournament tomorrow night. I'm sure I'll have plenty of pics to post after this weekend! Check back soon!

4th of July

We had a 4th of July party at Don's parent's house. Sarah and Molly were ready for a fun filled weekend. We camped out all weekend and the girls had a blast! Sarah had fun hopping with baby frogs (one of which she hopped right on top of...), picking cherries, and finding sticks for the fire. Molly loved running free in the field and eating berries that her sister picked for her. Molly also experienced her first tractor ride! (Seinfeld, anyone?!) Below are some pictures...Sarah and Molly before our whirlwind weekend, Sarah with her cousins, Hannah and Hope, Molly and Daddy on the tractor, Sarah reading a book to Molly in the motorhome, and Sarah resting with Bronson after an exhausting weekend! All in all, the girls had a blast, and it was so nice the night of the party to just let Sarah run free with her buddies without constantly worrying about her or having to entertain her! Thank God for tents and air mattresses! What could be more fun for a two year old?!

Run for the Young!

Sarah ran in her second annual kids fun run on June 28th. Her Papa helped plan the Crocker Park Run for the Young race and Sarah was very excited to run with mommy and Uncle Dan!

At the start of the race she was a little apprehensive, causing us to get a late start and be the last ones on the course. Dan and I tried to speed her up by swinging her in our arms, but her foot caught ours and I fell on my face! We took a short cut and Sarah was much more excited to run once she saw the other kids! Below you can see her approaching the finish line... She was soooo excited!

Sarah and Uncle Dan posing for a celebratory "WE DID IT" photo!

Can't wait to run again next year...maybe she'll do the WHOLE race!

Molly's First Birthday!

Molly's birthday was Wednesday, June 25. At the Walton house, tradition is to take a picture of Daddy with his birthday girl at the same time each year. When Molly was born at 2:54 p.m, we got her first picture by 3:10. And so it goes that each year at 3:10 on June 25, Daddy and Molly will be captured together in a picture! It's exciting to watch the changes each year!

After our picture, we tried having cake. Molly listened attentively as we sang "Happy Birthday" but was NOT interested in the cake! She mashed it up for a minute, but did not eat more than a tiny bite. I'm guessing it is not the worst thing if she doesn't like cake...more for Daddy!

Julian's Visit

These pictures are a little late, but I wanted to post some cute pics from when Julian stayed with us for a weekend. Sarah really enjoyed having a big brother around. They had fun together!

Random...

Here are just some random pictures... Sarah and Molly love to have tea parties on the deck at MeMe's house, Mom and Dad goofing around,
a few pics of Mommy and her girly girls, and Molly posing with her birthday present!

On a side note...we went to the doctor today for Molly's one year check up and guess what percentile she is in for height? 102%! I didn't know you could go above 100, but she is VERY tall for her age! How exciting!

Here are some recent pictures of my girls. They were big helpers at their Aunt Bridget's (Doodie's) baby shower. Sarah is very excited for Cayden to "come out of there!"

Molly's first birthday is coming up on June 25 so stay tuned for some great bday shots!

Summer Time!

Its been a while since I've written, but my girls are just as great as ever! We recently bought a bike trailer so I cart the girls around as I train with Don for the 150 mile Pedal to the Point! Sarah loves the "little car" however Molly just screams and screams! Molly's first birthday is fast approaching (June 25) and I cannot believe how fast time flies! Seeing as she is my last baby I feel like I can never hold her enough. I'm even having a hard time thinking about taking her bottle away...that's right mom - strict mom Beckie is having a hard time sticking to her plans! With Sarah, it was easy to take away formula and bottles at age one. Molly is so much more attached to that bottle than Sarah ever was, so I'm having a hard time! Sarah is pretty much potty trained...with the occasional slip up when she says "I'm so sorry about that." Molly's little personality is starting to pop - she is one feisty little thing! And boy does she know how to work a scream to get what she wants! Oh the joys of parenthood. I am cherishing each scream and potty accident because I know soon they'll be leaving for college...

Sarah's last day of school!

My baby is growing up so fast! Tuesday was Sarah's last day of preschool this year. She is so excited to be experiencing her first summer vacation! I don't think she even realizes she won't be going back to school for a while! I just can't believe how quickly she is growing. Preschool has been an excellent experience for her - she loves playing with her friends, singing the ABC's, and of course experimenting with shaving cream! Although we hit a few bumps during the school year (She didn't want to play with a certain somebody because she was "ugly..."), Sarah seems to have grown for the better! We're excited for summer!!

What's going on?!

Well, another day with sick kiddos. My girls were dealing with 102' temperatures last night. Molly has those darn snotty sneezes and Sarah just looks at me and cries saying "Mommy, I don't feel good." It really is times like these were you start to doubt your own judgement in how to help your kids! Don was holding Molly last night and she was just screaming uncontrollably and then the next second he experienced an exorcism style projectile vomit shower. Today they both woke up without fevers, but still cranky and snotty! We're headed to the doctor tomorrow to hopefully end this once and for all! I feel like my poor darlings are sick every other day!

Here's the most recent picture of us Walton girls.
I'm noticing Daddy isn't making any of these pictures...
He isn't one to sit and pose like we are!
We do love our daddy though!
This is Molly's camera smile...

Everytime the camera comes out, this is her "Cheese!" face!

I find it hilarious! :)

For any of you who aren't familiar with my first born child...Bronson. Here he is somewhat adjusting to Molly's intrusive ways. Weighing in at 112 lbs, he's definitely my biggest baby, but he is a softy with the girls. He's even developed an ability to share all of his toys with Molly. I assume chewy rubber toys are good for teething babies!
I am amazed at how well he reacts to the constant tail pulling, nose stomping, ear pulling attacks he gets from Sarah and Molly. He's such a good boy! Sarah and Molly just love their big bro :)

The Next American Idol

I'm sorry to say it, but I already know who the next American Idol is! Sarah just loves watching the "singing" show and requests it every night of the week! She loves to dance to the music (with her eyes closed and arms extended) and instructs mommy and daddy to "Clap guys, use your manners!" Can't wait for the big paychecks to start arriving...

Sick Kids :(

Today I was thankful for my job as a substitute! Although I had taken a job for the day, it was easy to cancel and snuggle my girls all day. Between running noses, teething tears, severe diaper rash, and catching our coughs, my day was spent being mommy. It was a hectic day, but I remember what it was like to be sick and just want your mom! I'm so happy that I am able to stay home with them when they need me the most!

Saturday Morning

I've been working like crazy and was so looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday! I had great plans to take my girls on a stroller ride to the park, maybe the Children's Museum, and a playdate with Xavier and Alaska. This is how my mind works - everything planned out minute by minute!

Welcome to Saturday morning 6:30 a.m. Sarah is peeking in my face saying "The sun is up, Mommy. Good Morning!" I convince her to sit on my bed and watch cartoons while I catch a few more zzz's. I wake up a few minutes later with Higgly Town Heroes blasting on the tv and no Sarah anywhere. I get up and walk out of the room and find her in the crib with Molly - both of them laughing histerically! So much for sleeping in!! We got up and had breakfast (lots of coffee for mommy!) and Molly was quick to fall back asleep with a bottle.

And here's the reason for this post. I spent two uninterupted hours with Sarah - (I admit, the thoughts of laundry, email, job hunting, cleaning all crossed my mind)! We read books, sang our ABC's and practiced identifying letters. She is so smart! Forget the scheduled day, we're staying home and hanging out!

I like days like today where I'm forced to stop and relax. I'm constantly on the go and thinking if I just work nonstop now, later on I can relax. However Later on, there is always more to do! Thank God for kids who force you to stop and breathe once in a while! My children are lifesavers :)

Easter Vacation 2008. Meme and I decided to take a spur of the moment trip to Florida! After 20 hours in the car, we made it to the Florida house otherwise known by Sarah as "Florida" itself. The girls got to experience so many new things! From visiting the beach where Molly ate shells and Sarah splashed in the water, to exploring a Kid Zoo, the girls had a blast! This blog is a big THANK YOU to Meme for coming with us and supplying the majority of the fun! If it were up to me, I probably would've hung out by the pool and not gone many places. However, I'm so glad we tried new things and enjoyed our vacation. The easter bunny even paid us a visit leaving eggs, candy, and stuffed animals! The girls also experienced riding on the back of a bike for daily bike rides. Sarah loved waving to her shadow and Molly just hung out. It was a great trip and we can't wait to return next year (if Meme wants to make the trip again)!

Meet my girls!

Welcome to my page dedicated to the loves of my life...Sarah Rose and Molly Carolyn. I've decided to blog about their childhood because the handy dandy notebook that I was using has run out of pages! Since their births, I have kept track of silly stories, major milestones, and interesting happenings in our daily lives. It is fun to now look back at Sarah's accomplishments as Molly meets them and see how closely they're growing. I am amazed each day that I have been so blessed with these angels. They truly are my life and I am overwhelmed with love for my girls.
Now that I've gotten all emotional with you...let me give you some basics. Sarah Rose was born September 17, 2005 and is now 2 1/2 years old. She is just starting to put complete sentences together and form her own ideas. I am constantly amazed with how her vocabulary is growing! My favorite phrase at the moment is when I ask her how she is doing, Sarah responds "I'm doing pre--tty good!" (purposely stretching out the "pretty" for the drama of it). She attends preschool three days a week where she is mastering letters, numbers, and making friends! Sarah has had a bit of anger arise since the arrival of her new sister, and we're working on "using our words" to help Molly learn. Sarah loves being a big sister and a "mommy" to all of her babies. I enjoy watching her master new things like riding her tricycle, put on tennis shoes, and go potty on the big girl potty!
Miss Molly Carolyn (unfortunately I have been using the nickname Molly moo...I know she'll kill me one day but I can't stop saying it!) was born on June 25, 2007. After being three days late, I was induced and Molly came along. I've since noticed that Maniac Molly definitely does things on her own time and in her own way! She has the most endearing smile that just lights up a room. She is currently 9 months old but moves and groves like a 1 year old. She is anxious to start walking - running is more like it- because she likes to go go go! She enjoys eating books and looking at flashcards. Her most recent discovery is her sister's puzzle shelf. Molly has learned to pull all the puzzles down and separate them in a record 2 minutes! Knowing that she is my last baby, I tend to spoil her a bit and carry her around when I know she should be exploring her world. I also love to rock with her, but little miss feisty doesn't always cooperate!
I hope that you enjoy reading about my girls as much as I enjoy writing about them! Stop by often to see what new things they are discovering!
